Geomagic Studio Course

Overview

This three-day instructor-led course covers all the necessary tools for successfully using Geomagic Studio. The user will learn how to interact with the application, edit point cloud data, generate and edit STL models and generate surfaces for downstream applications.

Who should attend?

This introductory course is designed for new users to Geomagic Studio who have a need to create usable STL/surfaced models from scanned part data.

What will I learn?

After completing the course, users will be able to:

  • Register, merge and manipulate point cloud data.
  • Procees, repair and manipulate polygonal data.
  • Layout and construct NURBS surfaces.
  • Extract regional data to design intent surfaces.
  • Export data for downstream applications.

Prerequisites

In this course the user will be working intensively with Geomagic Studio. To successfully understand the content and complete the activities, the user must already be able to:

  • Understand and use Windows conventions.
  • Understand engineering application terminology.
  • Understand basic scanning techniques.
