Geomagic Names Jim Johnson VP of Worldwide Sales & Business Development
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., May 21, 2001 -- Geomagic, a developer of software that enables mass customization, has named James H. Johnson vice president of worldwide sales and business development.
Johnson was most recently vice president of regional sales for Vivant Corp., a supplier of automated e-procurement solutions. For seven years, he was senior director of the central region for Autodesk, the world's leading CAD/CAM software company. At Autodesk, he worked with a staff of 40 and an extensive reseller channel to generate revenue growth of 300 percent in that region.

In his new position with Geomagic, Johnson will set sales plans and goals, manage the worldwide sales team, recruit and develop channel sales, and develop business relationships with major accounts and other technology companies in the forefront of mass customization.
“Jim Johnson has an established track record in helping companies expand their customer bases quickly and dramatically,” says Ping Fu, Geomagic's president and CEO. “We are very excited about Jim's experience in direct sales, OEM partnerships and channel management. He brings the kind of expertise we need as our technology enters the manufacturing mainstream.”
