Sr. Technical Support Engineer
Location: RTP, NC

The Position:
As a member of our Technical Support Team, you will be responsible for second level technical support for Geomagic family of industrial and bio-medical design, manufacturing and inspection software tools. You will play a lead role for the support team and interface with partners, end users and Geomagic staff to resolve application issues. You will also help define and implement state of the art tools, processes and other forms of communication to facilitate successful adaptation of Geomagic products.

Responsibilities:
  • Employ a high level of interpersonal and communication skills to defuse customer frustration and move toward a solution.
  • Identify the degree of customer’s technical knowledge and adjust problem solving communications accordingly. Escalate complex problems as necessary.
  • Deliver quality technical resolutions in a timely manner by interpreting customer problems, researching available resources, and applying solutions in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.
  • Provide a leadership role in technical support organization in mentoring junior staff.
  • Log all incoming calls and accurately create case notes in a call tracking database.
  • Participate in training activities to maintain technical currency, and to broaden product knowledge.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Technical degree in mechanical engineering or manufacturing engineering
  • 4-5 years of hands-on experience in an intense design/manufacturing environment
  • At least 3 years experience delivering technical support for CAD, CAE or CAM software company.
  • Extensive working knowledge of 3D CAD systems, industrial design, inspection methodologies and surfacing tools is highly desirable.
  • Ability to multi task effectively.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and people skills are a must.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Possess superior organizational and writing skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to reach out to diverse technical audiences.
