Associate Quality Assurance Engineer
Location: Research Triangle Park, North Carolina
The Position:
As a member of the Quality Assurance team, you will assist in the delivery and support of the Geomagic family of industrial design, bio-medical, manufacturing and inspection products. You will work with a team of engineering professionals through the software development life cycle in defining, executing and documenting test plans for manual and automated quality assurance of the product. You will implement processes, tools and practices that enable the company to deliver and support high quality products and services. The successful candidate must have a background in engineering, manufacturing, gaming or medical software industry with a successful track record of developing projects in a fast paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Create and execute test plans and test cases based on software specification, for different phases of product life cycle
- Create, run and process cases for automated QA testing
- Participate in product design and specification process. Provide timely and effective reviews of functional specifications.
- Delegate testing tasks to remote personnel and communicate effectively to get testing tasks completed on time.
- Report bugs in the bug tracking system and follow up on reported bugs
- Critically evaluate the results of testing processes to provide timely and accurate defect descriptions.
- Contribute to assessment of product quality and release readiness.
- Interact with customers and the support personnel to resolve technical issue related to using Geomagic products.
Requirements:
- An under-graduate/graduate degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Aerospace or related engineering fields.
- 1-2 years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance.
- Must exhibit working knowledge of mechanical CAD/CAM, medical/dental software or other 3D software tools in a Windows environment.
- Prior experience working with offshore development teams is desirable.
- Hands-on experience with commercial testing, tracking and configuration management tools is an added plus.
- Possess superior organizational, written & verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow through and resolve complex customer issues.
- Ability to work co-operatively with team members and escalate customer issues, as necessary.
