Application Engineer

Location: Research Triangle Park, North Carolina

The Position:

The Application Engineer will be responsible for supporting sales activities within the specified territory by providing technical leadership and validation for Geomagic proposed solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • In supporting the sales process, this person will be responsible for all technical activities related to customers’ acceptance of the Geomagic solution. This includes but is not limited to gathering and understanding technical requirements, developing and conducting product demonstrations, working with sales executives to construct and deliver compelling business value proposals.
  • Provide support to current customers’ installation, implementation, and usage of Geomagic products as needed. Establish yourself as primary contact for all technical and support needs.
  • Propagate the usage of Geomagic products within installed base customers by leveraging knowledge about current user applications and successes. Develop reference accounts that can be documented as success stories and to whom prospects can be referred in order to confidently further the technical sale.
  • Evaluate both Geomagic released and pre-released products, gathering feedback from customers and funneling this information to Marketing and Development.
  • Support the technical aspects of trade shows and seminars in preparation and staffing.

Requirements:

  • 4-year degree in engineering, metrology or industrial design strongly desired.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in manufacturing, engineering, CAD/CAM/CAE, reverse engineering, surfacing, styling, and/or inspection/verification.
  • Candidate should have excellent presentation skills and should be comfortable in front of groups and/or high level executives. Familiarity with internet based tools that facilitate remote presentation.
  • Previous experience with advance surfacing software, inspection software, and software applications using 3D scanners is highly desirable.
  • Moderate travel up to 20% of time.
  • Well organized, customer focused - can establish trust and build long term relationships that benefit the customer and Geomagic.
  • Teamwork - This person will be need to matrix manage through various divisions of the company to achieve objectives while respecting others commitments and objectives.
